Pench vs Bandhavgarh: Which Is Better for Tigers?

Updated October 20264 min readBy the Wild Excursions naturalist team

The short answer

Bandhavgarh is the tiger-density heavyweight: 135 tigers in 2022, rugged hills and an ancient fort. It's best for tiger-focused trips with time. Pench is much easier to reach (about 2 hours from Nagpur), reliable at Turia and gentler for families, so it's ideal for short trips. They're about 7–8 hours apart, and many travellers do both, with Kanha in between.
