When to come
The core is open from 1 October to 30 June. March to May brings the best tiger sightings but real heat (up to 42°C). November to February is comfortable, but January dawns can be near freezing, so pack warm layers for open Gypsies. The reserve itself recommends November–December and March–May.

Combining Pench with more of India
- Pench + Tadoba: both are reached from Nagpur. Two great reserves, one airport.
- Pench + Kanha (+ Bandhavgarh): the classic MP tiger circuit, ending at Jabalpur.
- Pench + the Golden Triangle: Delhi, Agra and Jaipur either side of a Nagpur flight.
