Know Before You Go
  • Connectivity: mobile network is patchy inside most reserves. Let people know you’ll be off-grid for the length of each drive.
  • Gate timings: entry and exit times are set and enforced by the forest department, not by us. Arrive at the meeting point on time so the whole group isn’t held up.
  • On the road: safari tracks are unpaved and can be bumpy for a few hours at a stretch. It’s a real jeep safari, not a sightseeing coach.
  • Rates: quoted pricing can change with the season or a change in group size — always confirmed with you before you pay anything.
  • Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed — our naturalists and drivers use their experience to give you the best possible chance.
  • Cancellations & rescheduling: refunds are based on how far ahead of departure you cancel, from 100% (120+ days out) down to no refund inside 30 days. Full terms are on our Terms & Conditions page.

Additional Information

About the Tour: Pench straddles the Maharashtra–Madhya Pradesh border, and its mix of teak forest, riverine habitat, and grassland supports both a healthy tiger population and one of the richest bird lists of any reserve in the region. Naturalists on this trip build time for both — tiger tracking on the main drives, birding stops at water bodies along the way.

Pench Safari FAQs

What's the best time to visit Pench National Park?

The park is open mid-October to June 30. November to February is the most popular window — cool weather, migratory birds, and consistent tiger sightings — while May and June can be excellent too, as scarce water concentrates wildlife around remaining sources.

How many safari zones does Pench have?

Six gates in total — three core, three buffer. Turia zone has the highest wildlife density and best visibility; Karmajhiri and Jhamtara are the other popular core zones.

Are any Pench gates closed on specific days?

Yes — on the Maharashtra side, Khursapar Gate is closed Tuesdays and Sillari Gate is closed Wednesdays. On the Madhya Pradesh side, core-zone evening safaris are closed on Wednesdays.

Does Pench offer a night safari?

Yes — but only in the Wolf Sanctuary buffer zone (Rukhad and Khawasa), from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. Since it's a buffer zone, it stays open year-round, even through the monsoon.

How many people can ride in a safari jeep at Pench?

Six passengers maximum per vehicle, and visitors aren't permitted to get out of the jeep during the drive.

Is Pench closed on any festivals?

Yes — alongside the monsoon closure (July to mid-October), Pench also closes for Diwali, Republic Day, and Holi.
